This week’s topic:
Which books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?
1. Between the Spark and the Burn by April Genevieve Tucholke
I loved Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea so incredibly much. And that ending!!!! Book 2 can’t be in my hands soon enough!
2. Great by Sara Benincasa
Honestly, what first caught my eye about Great was the cover. Have you seen that girl’s eye makeup!? But then I read the description, which explains that this debut is a retelling of The Great Gatsby. Yes, please!
3. Nest by Esther Ehrlich
As those of you who regularly read my blog know, I’m fairly new to middle grade lit, but I adore it. This is one of my most anticipated upcoming MG debuts. The description grabbed me and has stuck in my head ever since:
In 1972 home is a cozy nest on Cape Cod for eleven-year-old Naomi “Chirp” Orenstein, her older sister, Rachel; her psychiatrist father; and her dancer mother. But then Chirp’s mom develops symptoms of a serious disease, and everything changes.
Chirp finds comfort in watching her beloved wild birds. She also finds a true friend in Joey, the mysterious boy who lives across theese street. Together they create their own private world and come up with the perfect plan: Escape. Adventure. Discovery.
I could go on and on, but I’ll stick to these 3 anticipated upcoming reads. What are you most looking forward to? Tell me in the comments or link me to your F&F Friday post!
I haven’t heard of any of these. Already following you. Have a great weekend! 🙂

I can’t believe Between the Spark and the Burn didn’t make my list. It should have I’m curious about that next installment in that series.

Wasn’t the first book so good!? It was not what I was expecting, but it was even better!
It wasn’t what I was expecting either. I’m actually not sure what I thought was going to happen, but it wasn’t that. It has some awesome quotable moments too 😀
Same here! Before I got a bit into it, I didn’t even realize that it had a horror vibe going on. By then, I was sucked in and I COULD NOT put it down. But things got real crazy at the end!
Those are some interesting choices. Haven’t heard of the second two before!

This is my Follow Friday!
I hope the second two have caught your eye after seeing my post! 🙂
I’ve heard of the Between Series by April Genevieve Tucholke recently and I have added both books to my TBR. The second book is the last book so I’m going to read that in one sitting once it is released.

That sounds like a perfect way to read them!
Not familiar with these titles, but I hope you enjoy them.

I really need to move Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea to the top of my list…I’m excited to read Great, too, although I think I may need to read The Great Gatsby first *hangs head in shame for not having read it yet*
Followed via Bloglovin’ 🙂 I look forward to reading more of your posts!
Oh my goodness, do not feel bad about not reading THE GREAT GATSBY yet… I JUST read it last year for the very first time. I think it was actually better that I waited until I was in my 20s before reading for the first time… I think I saw it in a different light than teenaged me would have!
Oh phew, I feel much better now. I’ve had it on my shelf for years after accidentally stealing it from my high school (long story haha), but now that I’m older maybe it is time to take a look at it.
I once stole a book about all the different Beanie Babies from one of my childhood classrooms, so no judgement from me. haha
I hope to read some great books this year but I have not selected them yet..I plan to read any book that interests me along with revisiting some of my old reads …:)

Amber, you NEED to read Between the Devil and The Deep Blue Sea. But maybe you should wait until closer to bk 2’s release, as you’ll want it IMMEDIATELY. 🙂
Sometimes a gorgeous cover sells me on a book and sometimes it’s all about what’s written on the back cover. Between The Spark And The Burn is all about the title! Based on that alone, I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. Thanks for sharing!

If you haven’t read BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA yet, pick that up first (and that cover is amazing too, don’t worry)!
